Story

Léo is a small handwoven water hyacinth basket, lined inside with removable, sun-dried organic cotton. Made in Ninh Bình, along Vietnam's Red River Delta, where water hyacinth grows abundantly in the rivers and lakes.

Named after a lion — small, sturdy, and quietly confident in any room. His face is embroidered by hand, his mane built from individual strands of natural jute. The removable cotton lining gives the basket a clean, finished interior, protecting its contents and keeping it easy to care for.

Dia 35cm × H 30cm. A useful piece — for a bedside table, a shelf, or a corner of a child's room. For the small books, small toys, and the tiny treasures a child collects and can't bear to lose. For all the small beautiful things that matter.

  • Keep away from prolonged moisture or direct rain.
  • Avoid sustained direct sunlight for extended periods — this may fade the natural colour over time.
  • If the basket loses its shape, lightly dampen the exterior and reshape by hand. Leave to dry in position.

Water hyacinth baskets are woven from stalks harvested at peak maturity from the rivers and lakes of the Red River Delta in North Vietnam. The stalks are cut, sorted by diameter, sun-dried without chemical treatment, and woven by hand using a tight spiral technique.

The cotton lining in Léo is removable fabric with hook-and-loop strap.

Water hyacinth is a fast-growing aquatic plant native to the freshwater systems of North Vietnam. Harvested at peak maturity, the stalks are dried naturally without chemical treatment. The resulting fibre is golden-straw in tone, slightly aromatic, and strong.

The interior lining is 100% cotton — soft, washable, and designed to protect contents from the natural texture of the weave.
